Built at the entrance of the Yal-Ku lagoon, it has a unique view of both the ocean and the lagoon. Bordered by a rocky coastline, Villa Gauguin has direct access to the lagoon, a natural aquarium where you can snorkel, canoe or simply swim in its crystalline waters, looking for sea turtles which frequent the lagoon.

Villa Gauguin is an ideal place for those seeking a refined and luxurious environment for their holidays. This villa was built in a minimalist style with pure and simple lines allowing a full integration with the natural surroundings. The architectural principle of Villa Gauguin is the "sea" and all its shades.

Once you open the entrance door, you will be amazed by the 180° view of the Yal-Ku lagoon. Floor-to-ceiling glass windows allow a perfect integration of the house and the sea.

The first floor is comprised of 900 Sq.Ft. living room with 15 feet high ceilings. Separate dining room. Fully equipped kitchen with a separate breakfast corner. View over the external garden and lagoon. Bedroom with a queen-size bed with private view to the large interior garden of the villa completes the first floor.

The upstairs is comprised of 3 rooms with mesmerizing views on the lagoon and the ocean. Parent room with a king size bed, walk-in double closet and a bathroom. Two children's rooms, each furnished with 2 queen size beds, closet and private bathroom. Two rooms with balconies and views on the mangrove of the Yucatan peninsula complete this second floor.

Additional Information

Villa Gauguin is located in Akumal, without doubt the quietest and most picturesque village at the heart of the Mayan Riviera.

Akumal is only 22 miles from Playa del Carmen (the fastest growing town in Latin America), 55 miles from Cancun International Airport and 16 miles from the Tulum Mayan ruins.

Akumal, "Turtle's nest" in Mayan, is a favorite place for the sea turtles to lay their eggs. Akumal has two bays with beautiful beaches, ideal for swimming, snorkeling and scuba diving as the corral reef is very closed to the coastline.

In the surroundings of Akumal, there are some 200 entrances to the "cenotes", subterranean caves with depths up to 170 yards and very clear waters. The main centers for scuba diving in "cenotes" are in Akumal.

For the golf fanatics, the Playacar resort in Playa del Carmen, has a world-famous 18 holes course and in Puerto Aventuras (15 mn from Akumal), there is a 9 holes course.
